Let’s get cooking

  1. 01

    Trim and cut

Remove the ends and strings. Wash beans and cut into 4–5 cm sections.

  2. 02

    Boil thoroughly

Bring water to a full boil. Cook beans for about 10 minutes, extending time for thick pods, until thoroughly cooked and tender. Drain.

  3. 03

    Cook the garlic

Warm oil and garlic over medium heat for 20–30 seconds, without browning.

  4. 04

    Finish in the pan

Add cooked beans, soy sauce, and optional pepper. Toss for 2–3 minutes until hot throughout.

A little kitchen wisdom

Do not use colour alone to judge doneness. Beans must be fully cooked, not briefly warmed.

Can’t find an ingredient?

Fresh beans: Fully cooked canned green beans can be drained and warmed in the garlic pan.

Cook safely

Raw or undercooked green beans can contain harmful lectins. Boil thoroughly before stir-frying.
